I try to sense what He is saying as I present my need and lay out what I see as my options. Generally I feel fairly sure of His desires at the end of the conversation, and then plan accordingly. In some cases, though, it is helpful to have one or more trusted friends or family members to share with and see if they have some knowledge, skill, or experiences that will help clarify everything before I make any real decisions. Usually, these steps are enough to help me make sound choices and I proceed confidently. There are several bible passages that attest to the usefulness and the spiritual soundness of this kind of practice. So the first move should always be private prayer, followed by trusted counsel. In our scripture today Jesus was giving some specific instructions to the crowd, and the disciples, on how to handle certain situations, and also, how to make sure they are right with God so that He hears them. When we get to verse 20, we find Him saying that if two or more are gathered together in His name, He will be right there in the midst of them. If we are all in agreement fellowship and are prepared to bend our will to His put Him first we have forged a strong chain that will produce the victory needed.

In many ways, I still am. The words he spoke were not merely advice; they were a mandate, an imperative. Be faithful to your wife, he said. At heart, I am Gomer. I am a woman who sabotages love in spite of what I know to be true. And I do it now, looking for love in the praise of others, in social media likes, and even in the refrigerator late at night.

I do not believe in “soul mates,” necessarily. But I do believe that if you are seeking God’s will about who you date, He will lead you to someone that is a true fit for you.

There are so many things in this world that fight for our time…and when we allow them to take too much…well…we lose our focus. The answer is not necessarily to cut these distractions out entirely in some cases it is , but to realize that they can distract us…and we need to keep them in check. In the following paragraphs, I have listed 10 common things that can interfere with our walk with God.

We all need it to live in this world, but we must not be owned by it if we are to be not of this world. I think the following passage sums this up quite nicely its long, I know…but when I read it, I felt all of it applies to this topic: If your eyes are good, your whole body will be full of light. If then the light within you is darkness, how great is that darkness! Either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other.

You cannot serve both God and Money. Is not life more important than food, and the body more important than clothes? Are you not much more valuable than they? See how the lilies of the field grow. They do not labor or spin. Each day has enough trouble of its own.

Dating: God’s Best or All the Rest?

Lee Grady Don’t be impatient when choosing a helpmate. God has the right one for you. I have always believed God is in the matchmaking business.

It is the conscious fixing or focusing of our mind’s attention and our heart’s affection on God. “Now set your mind and heart to seek the Lord your God.” (1 Chronicles ) “If then you have been raised with Christ, seek the things that are above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God.

Dating is a shared event between a male and a female who have made no binding, biblical commitment to one another and who are themselves primarily responsible for their own supervision while on the date to a lesser or greater degree. They may be given a curfew, but they are entrusted with the enormous responsibility of supervising their own conduct while on the date. Dating, as we now know it, is really a twentieth century innovation. It replaced the tried and proven practice of courtship because men and women began worshipping at the feet of the false god, Freedom e.

Couples came to believe they really were not free while under the supervision of a loving father incidentally many unbelievers criticize Christianity for the same reason, i. To the contrary, God makes it abundantly clear that one is actually enslaved to his own sinful passions Rom. Then and only then will one know true freedom. Rothman, no friend to biblical Christianity, has noted:

Seek God’s Will Carefully When Choosing a Spouse

Controversy[ edit ] Anthropologist Helen Fisher in What happens in the dating world can reflect larger currents within popular culture. For example, when the book The Rules appeared, it touched off media controversy about how men and women should relate to each other, with different positions taken by New York Times columnist Maureen Dowd [58] and British writer Kira Cochrane of The Guardian.

Sara McCorquodale suggests that women meeting strangers on dates meet initially in busy public places, share details of upcoming dates with friends or family so they know where they’ll be and who they’ll be with, avoid revealing one’s surname or address, and conducting searches on them on the Internet prior to the date. Don’t leave drinks unattended; have an exit plan if things go badly; and ask a friend to call you on your cell phone an hour into the date to ask how it’s going. If you explain beautifully, a woman does not look to see whether you are handsome or not — but listens more, so you can win her heart.

Dating someone should be a ‘you, me and God’ thing but if it’s not it might be a sign that you’ve missed His will. Here are seven things to look out for when this happens.

Related Media If you had to pick a single word to describe our society, perhaps the most accurate word would be pressure. We live in a day marked by pressure in almost every area of life. At five years old we are thrust into school where there is pressure to perform and to compete for grades. We join athletic teams where there is more pressure to excel. Then there is the pressure of getting a good job and, once we get it, of doing well enough to keep it and be promoted. There are family pressures: There are the pressures of raising godly children in our pagan society.

World problems, economic problems, personal problems, and the problems of friends and loved ones all press upon us. In the midst of such pressures, there is one thing that will determine the course of your life: Everyone has a set of priorities. If your priorities are not clearly defined, you will be swept downstream in life by various pressures, the seeming victim of your circumstances.

But if your priorities are clear, then you can respond to your pressures by making choices in line with your priorities, and thereby give direction to your life.

Knowing God’s Will

Desperately seeking sociopath More from reader “R”: I realized part of my bitter disappointment was that [the man i was dating] was only a narcissist [not a sociopath]. I am a person that is highly sensitive and I do think that I have an almost debilitating capacity to understand and at times feel what other feel. Is seems that just because you are emotional does not necessarily make you good. It has however after a lot of time of introspection made me realize that I can understand people’s motives pretty easily.

I’m distressed because they are usually, well

Most decisions are insignificant to us; but when we have a serious decision, we often seek advice. Sometimes we look to a trusted friend, a coworker, a neighbor next door, a family member, a member of the clergy or a counselor and some of us look to God.

And you looooove him so much! You KEEP taking your past ways of thinking from the world.. So you both have sex, repent and give that area to God.. YOU want to make things work but you just cannot figure out how to turn off that switch. Well, this post may be for you if any of the above applied to you. I blogged about it here. OR to bring it closer to home.. FRUIT of your salvation is a changed life. Demons can do that. Takes the position that the two people have no physical contact at all no touching, no hand-holding, no kissing until marriage.

Many in a courtship relationship will not spend any time together unless family members, preferably parents, are present at all times. Courting couples state up front that their intentions are to see if the other person is a suitable potential marriage partner. Courtship allows for the two people to truly get to know each other in a more platonic setting without the pressures of physical intimacy or emotions clouding their view.

It was great for him and I to see how each other interacted with others in large groups.

God Didn’t (and Won’t) Tell You to Marry Your Spouse

By Grant Castleberry Originally posted October 24th, I am writing this post for him and myriads of other young men like him—young, single men that I have conversations with almost daily about life and relationships. I know that God does not call every man to marriage, but for the many that he does, it is a good thing that they find a godly wife.

Outside of salvation in Jesus Christ, a godly wife brings more joy and happiness to a man than anything else on earth.

For that reason, my ultimate answer to your question is that you need to seek the Lord’s advice on a (1) daily and (2) case-to-case basis. Seek God’s Advice Daily It’s important to set aside time every day to pray, to talk and listen to God.

I have no doubt that many talented, cultured people have become homosexuals at some stage in their lives. Homosexuals are valuable people too! But none of this make homosexuality right. No matter what people say, the God of the Bible is against homosexual behavior. Homosexuals may shake their fist at God and try to convince everyone, including themselves, that they were born that way, but it is a lie. It may be a politically correct lie, but it is still a lie.

People are recruited into the homosexual movement. They are not born that way. Often boys who did not grow up with a father are vulnerable to seeking male love through homosexuality. There is the interesting account of an intelligent young man who turned from homosexuality to Christ in the book, Miracles Still Happen found on this site. Please check it out. I am familiar with so-called Biblical defenses of homosexuality and I think they hold no water. A Christian homosexual is a contradiction in terms!

God’s Way To Find Your Spouse

No occasion justifies hatred; no injustice warrants bitterness. Today I will love God and what God loves. I will invite my God to be the God of circumstance. I will refuse the temptation to be cynical. I will refuse to see people as anything less than human beings, created by God. I will refuse to see any problem as anything less than an opportunity to see God.

Feb 27, John Greco Is it possible that what we’re really after is not God’s will at all, but only His good gifts? I have a confession to make: There have been times when I have lived like Indiana Jones. I don’t own a whip or a fedora, and I’m still on the lookout for my first priceless relic, so my confession may need some explanation. Indiana Jones and his guide make their way through the Peruvian jungle to a forbidden temple in search of a golden idol — only the place is booby-trapped.

Guarded by huge spiders, deadly spikes, a seemingly bottomless pit, and a giant boulder that will crush anyone trying to escape, no treasure hunter has ever made it out alive. After narrowly evading a series of these deadly traps, Dr. Jones reaches the idol chamber, but it’s quiet And that’s when he notices the intricate stone tiles on the floor.

He pauses and then carefully presses down on a tile to test his theory.

Piri Reis map original Redrawing to show detail The US Airforce map shows the probable projection that governed the layout of the ancient Piri Reis map. Finally, when Constantinople was seized by the Venetians during the Fourth Crusade in , the maps began to find their way into the hands of European sailors and adventurers: Most of these maps were of the Mediterranean and the Black Sea. But maps of other areas survived. These included maps of the Americas and maps of the Arctic and Antarctic Oceans.

Among these, the Shakti Peethas at Kamkhya, Gaya and Ujjain are regarded as most sacred as they symbolize three most important aspects of mother Goddess viz. When observed carefully one can see that they lie in a perfect straight line from Kamakhya to Ujjain via Gaya symbolizing that every creation in this universe will annihilate one day without fail. Have you ever wondered about Pre-Pharaonic Egypt and its rulers, not according to mainstream scholars but according to ancient texts written thousands of years ago? This time in history, the pre-pharaonic period remains a great mystery for most scholars and Egyptologist, mostly because they cannot accept that what is written since it goes directly against the beliefs of most historians, archaeologists, and Egyptologists.

The time before BC, the date when the first official Pharaoh appeared in Egypt is a great enigma. It is not a secret that the ancient Egyptians consider their civilization as the legacy of Gods who came not from Earth but from elsewhere in the cosmos, and Pre-Pharaonic Egypt seems to back up this theory. One of the most important ancient texts that can tell us more about this time in history is the Papyrus of Turin, which lists all the Pharaohs who ruled over Ancient Egypt.

It is a great enigma why mainstream scholars consider this ancient text as pure myth and why most details of the ancient text have been overlooked and omitted from the history books.

Through the romance, excitement, awkwardness, and confusion of dating, these two prayers help me keep my eyes fixed on God. I jumped back into the online dating scene recently in an effort to find a something-year-old man who loves Jesus and hopefully lives nearby is that really too much to ask for?

I have such mixed emotions about this whole dating thing. Oh, do I have some hilariously uncomfortable dating stories! Like when my some-odd neighbor asked me out on a date right after he told me he keeps a hammer on his motorcycle to hit cars that drive too close what the heck?! Or that time it was so hot as I walked around a park on a first date in degree Tucson summer heat that my tongue literally stuck to the roof of my mouth as we talked can you feel the love tonight?

Some guys seem like a perfect match, but they never show mutual interest or they do for a while, then they stop responding that happened last week with a really really ridiculously good-looking man — bummer.
